Louth TD calls on people to ensure they are registered to vote in local elections

Louth TD Declan Breathnach is asking everybody to check that they are registered to vote by logging on the checktheregister.ie, or by checking with their Local Authority.

Registration to be included in the Supplementary Register of Electors closes on the 7th of May 2019.

“An application for inclusion in the supplement to the Register must be signed by the applicant in the presence of a member of the Garda Siochána from the applicant’s local Garda station who must first be satisfied as to the person’s identity before signing, dating and stamping the form (Supplementary Registration form (RFA2)). There is a separate form that may be used for change of address (Supplementary Change of Address (RFA3)).

“Voting is a fundamental right not available everywhere in the world and citizens entitled to cast their vote and make their choice should make the effort to go out and do so on the day” concluded Breathnach.
