Dundalk Chamber of Commerce nominated for top award

Chambers Ireland have announced their short list for their annual awards. The winners will be announced on April 10.

Dundalk Chamber’s www.m1corridor.ie has been shortlisted in the category of Most Successful Policy Campaign.

The other nominees are Carlow Chamber and Cork Chamber and Limerick Chamber.

President Pat McCormick expressed his delight at hearing the news, saying "it was a testament to the professionalism of the Chambers work".

Paddy Malone, PRO of the Chamber, said that this was yet more support for the project.

He had noticed that the IDA and EI were engaging with the project. He also jokingly said: "Yet again Cork and ourselves in direct competition."

The project’s aim is to attract jobs into the region from Drogheda through Dundalk and on to Newry.

The website is based around six one minute videos on all aspects of the region plus a range of statistics.

Drogheda Chamber have been shortlisted for their work on the Fleadh under the Cooperation with Local Authorities category.
