Philomena “Phyllis” M. Reenan (nee O’Meara), 75, passed away March 7, 2019.
Born and raised in Dublin, Phyllis moved to the United States in 1957, and attended Mount St. Mary’s Novitiate and Seattle University.
After teaching elementary school for a few years, she returned to Ireland in 1967, and met the love of her life, John “Joe” Reenan from Dundalk, and they were married on September 3, 1970. Phyllis and Joe, along with their three children, immigrated to the Philadelphia, PA area in 1985 where they spent the next 21 years before retiring to Shorewood, IL in 2006.
She was the beloved wife of 48 years to John J. Reenan, loving mother of Neal J. (Jen) Reenan, Ciara E. (Alex) Varvounis and Lesley C. Reenan, devoted Nana to Fiona, Trevor, Declan and Harry, a loving sister and sister-in-law, and was very close to the many other members of her wonderful extended family.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine O’Meara, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass and visitation took place Saturday, March 16.
