Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda will lose the religious connotations and be renamed as either: "University Hospital Drogheda, Drogheda Regional Hospital, Drogheda General Hospital" next year.
According to a report on the Drogheda Life website "the General Manager of the hospital, Fiona Brady, wrote to all staff members today (November 6) informing them of her intention, “as part of the Senior Management Strategic Plan for Quarter 1, 2019”, to change the name of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital" to one of the aforementioned names.
According to the report Ms Brady's letter to staff also said: "I feel that now is the time for real change for the hospital. I believe the services we provide should be the very best, and that the integrity and transparency of how we do our business be beyond reproach and ultimately be proven in our results and outcomes."
