Ross Kernan who founded QKangaroo
Dundalk Company Q Kangaroo officially launched its convenience app in Dundalk last week ahead of an ambitious nationwide rollout.
The convenience app, which aims to make life easier for customers, allows customers to find, order and prepay for food and/or drink in a chosen coffee shop or restaurant. Customers can then choose their pick up time and 'skip' the queue.
Time short Dundalkians can now preorder their coffee, beverage or food via QKangaroo in the following local cafes: Riva, 3rd Place, River Café and Red Rose Café in Dundalk and Café Acqua and Rocksalt in Blackrock.
QKangaroo was founded by local man Ross Kernan from Crossmaglen. His motivation for QKangaroo was to revolutionize mobile preordering with a particular focus on coffee. The app has some impressive features, which have been built and refined over the past 12 months of beta testing including geolocation, a digital wallet, loyalty schemes and the ability
to order in as little as 3 taps!
Qkangaroo chose to launch in Dundalk (on Tuesday, October 30) first as they discovered from local customer research the demand is already there for preordering coffee and for cashless payments.
In addition, they consider themselves a community-based company. Ross Kernan said: “We are keen to continue to support local businesses and people as we scale. We hired local talent (we now have a team of ten people) and as much as possible we work with local suppliers and agencies.”
QKangaroo launched October 30th in Dundalk and have some fantastic special offers and promos to celebrate over the coming few weeks. Keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages (@QKangaroo) over the next few days. The app is free to download from Google play or the app store and there is no added cost to the user.
