UPDATE 5.16pm: Carrickmacross Rd in Dundalk expected to remain closed overnight.
Storm Ali has taken its toll on Dundalk today, and due to a felled tree the Carrickmacross Road is currently closed to traffic.
In a Twitter update this afternoon, AA Roadwatch confirmed the closure:
"Carrickmacross Rd (R178) in Dundalk is closed at the Willow Grove estate due to a fallen tree and power lines. Use an alternative route."
