A new Dundalk company, Dealgan Clothing Company, have announced the launch of a new sports brand - Defy.
According to company spokesperson Laura Neacy, Defy sports apparel will specialise in sports teamwear and schoolwear with ambitions to grow into the retail space with leisure wear and everyday sports attire.
Dealgan Clothing Company, founded by local man John Fox, are located in the Regional Development Center on the DKIT campus right here in Dundalk.
The Dublin Road operations include the clothing, product design and research team and the sales, marketing and customer service representatives.
Defy Sports apparel, provide on and off field sports clothing for all major team sports, GAA, LGFA, Soccer, Rugby, Basketball and Athletics.
Spokesperson Laura Neacy explains that the brand evolution involved the hiring of experienced clothing and print designers, extensive travel to international trade shows and garment producing countries.
“We are confident that our global search for the finest performance fabrics, contemporary designs and fashion fits, is evident throughout our range, and will provide much needed choice within the Irish marketplace.”
She adds: “John offers the highest praise for the enterprise support the company has received, in particular from the Louth Enterprise Office, the DKIT, Regional Development Centre and Enterprise Ireland, and he encourages anybody that harbours any business ambitions to reach out to all local Enterprise support network.”
The company now look forward to next phase of the development cycle in promoting and marketing what we believe will the next generation Irish sports clothing brand of choice.
