Dundalk Garda appeal after patrol car and taxi rammed

A Garda car was rammed on Thursday, August 16th

Dundalk Gardai became involved in a high-speed car chase after a grey Audi A4 estate, whose four male occupants were “suspected of being involved in crime”, crossed the border and made its way into North Louth on Thursday, August 16th.

The car was spotted around 6:45pm and followed by Gardai from the Newry Road, Dundalk, and onto the Castleblaney Road.

Dundalk Gardai say the car was being driven dangerously before it collided with a parked taxi on Castleblaney Road and then reversed into a Garda patrol car.

Damage was caused to both the taxi and the garda car but there were no injuries sustained.

The occupants of the Audi A4 evaded Gardai by driving across the border.

Dundalk Gardai are appealing for anyone who might have spotted the Audi, which has a registration of OWO3DPU, to get in touch on 042 93 88400.
