Louth punter toasting MEGA Cheltenham win

A County Louth punter is toasting a mega win on the horses on Thursday after landing four winners at Cheltenham and pocketing over €33,500.

The customer made their prophetic picks in a BoyleSports shop in the county and took advantage of some early prices when throwing four Irish-trained horses into an ambitious €3 Lucky 15.

Shattered Love (6/1) and Delta Work (10/1) got the customer’s juices flowing by winning the opening two races on Thursday, but one of the biggest hurdles in the bet was overcome when 12/1 shot Balko Des Flos upset hot favourite Un De Sceaux in the Ryanair Chase to leave the punter only one winner away from a mammoth payout.

The cheers went up when 7/1 selection The Storyteller rallied to overtake Splash Of Ginge in the closing stages of the 4.10, landing the bet and triggering a payout of €30,514.20.

BoyleSports added a €3,051.42 bonus to the winnings for the privilege of picking four winners in a Lucky 15 bet, meaning the customer was able to collect a jaw-dropping total of €33,565.62 from the shop at close of play on Thursday.

Lawrence Lyons, Spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “It was a bruising day for us on Thursday with six Irish winners being so popular with the punters, but we have to tip our hats to the Wee County customer who had four of them on one docket and added a payout in excess of €33,500 to our woes.”
