LOUTH WEATHER: Risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall
Local weather expert Louth Weather has warned of the potential for localised flooding due to heavy rainfall.

"The rain is making its way slowly north and will arrive in the coming hours. As I outlined on Monday I'm expecting this rain to continue right through into Thursday.

"It could last 30 hours and with totals of up to 30mm (higher in hilly areas) we could well see localised flooding."

High winds could also add to the risk.

"In addition it will become increasingly windy overnight. The strongest winds will be from about midday to 7pm Wednesday with peak gusts up to 80kph during this period.

"Given that they will be from the SE, coastal areas will feel the full force of them. Thankfully high tide is outside the above time frame and is not particularly high at 4.5m."
