Yarnbombing Dundalk

Dundalk's Market Square decorated for the yarnbombing event last year

Dundalk's Market Square will be receiving a makeover in the form of a yarnbomb at 4pm today (Wednesday, March 7th).

Louth women from the Irish Countrywomen's Association will be installing the public artwork.

The An Tain Bull at the arts office will also be decorated and will be wheeled outside during the event.

There will also be an event at 11am  tomorrow, Thursday, to mark the occasion.

Organiser of the Dundalk group, Bernie Reid said: "After the success of #yarnbombdundalk this past couple of years I have been orchestrating an "All Ireland" yarnbomb and over 14 counties are participating this year, very exciting news and it all started in Louth!"

Join in by posting pictures on social media and use the hashtags #icayarnbomballireland2018 and #yarnbombdundalk.

In recognition of the yarnbombing event, An Tain Theatre is giving the ICA Louth Federation members a free wine reception. They will also host a viewing of the exhibition "Holding True Ground" on the night of the Thursday the 8th and showing the play "Lives in Translation".
