Attempted burglary in Blackrock

A man attempted to break into a home in the South End of Blackrock at 12.30am on Monday morning.

Dundalk gardai say the homeowner was woken up by the sound of glass smashing.

When he went to investigate, he saw a man putting his hand through the glass.

The perpetrator fled the scene upon seeing the homeowner.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who might have noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Blackrock gardaí at 042 93 22194 or Dundalk gardaí on 042 93 88400.

Man had 30 stolen cheques

A 24-year-old male was arrested by gardaí for handling stolen property.

Gardaí said they found 30 stolen cheques in the man's possession when they searched him on Wednesday, 28th February. 

The young male was charged with handling stolen property.

Men smashed windows of Park Street businesses

Two men, aged 37-and 20-years-old have been arrested on criminal damage charges after they smashed two windows of Park Street businesses.

When arrested, one of the males “struck out” to gardaí and caused damage to signage and broke glass in a front door.

The incident occurred at 9pm on Sunday, March 4th.
