LOUTH WEATHER: 'Beast from the East' says goodbye
In an update on Facebook, local weather expert Louth Weather has confirmed that the 'Beast from the East' will finally depart Ireland tonight.
"After all the excitement of the past week, it seems strange to be forecasting a normal week of Irish weather. Since 21 February we have had twelve days of easterly airflow, but tonight we finally say goodbye to "the beast from the east" as the Atlantic regains control, albeit in a subdued way as the jetstream remains very far south over Iberia.
"Temperatures recovering to 8°C by midweek. Dull and damp on Monday and Tuesday, but drier and sunnier Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Nights will be cold though with frosts and ice likely most nights this week."
