Louth County Council update: Gritting crews will be out on the roads from 2am this morning

Dundalk town centre footpaths are now partially cleared

Louth County Council revealed that the N2 and the N33 have been completely gritted and cleared since 4pm  this evening. 

A statement from the council said: "All of our published routes have been gritted by 4pm this evening and all are clear. The gritting crews will be out again at 2am on planned routes. Our operations crews have cleared the main thoroughfares in Ardee, Dundalk town centre footpaths have been partially cleared and will be completed tomorrow and Drogheda town centre footpaths will be cleared tomorrow. Carlingford and Omeath footpaths have been salted." 

Louth Co Council say  they are currently "working with the HSE to assist them mobilise key staff to locations throughout the county".

The local authority also said that they are "continuing to monitor the weather conditions and manage requests for assistance in a timely and safe manner" and that "the team will meet again at 10am Saturday 3rd of March to assess the situation".
