The L'Isle De France is back open for business

Tens of snowmageddon survivors flocked to the L'Isle De France chipper on Clanbrassil Street this afternoon as the Red Alert weather warning was lifted for Louth.

Tired of being stuck indoors for the last few days with only sliced pans to keep them nourished, hungry Dundalkians, some still wrapped up in their pyjamas , ordered snack boxes, bags of chips and battered sausages like we were about to be hit by the second Siberian blizzard of the week.

Staff maintain that "D'Isla", as it is known as locally, is the "only chipper open in Dundalk" today and that they're ready to "serve the town".

Even though it may well be one of the only fast food outlets open in Dundalk today (as of 2pm ), we're sure they won't be running out of supplies anytime soon.

We spotted approximately ten bags of reinforcements (spuds) being delivered into the kitchen of the popular chipper this afternoon.
