Dundalk murder accused misses another court hearing

The teenager charged with the murder of Japanese man Yosuke Sasaki in Dundalk last month was once again unable able to attend a court hearing schedule for today. 

The Irish Times report that Mohamed Morei (18) was unable to appear at his fifth scheduled court hearing at Cloverhill District Court today. He was arrested and remanded in custody on January 4th, the day after the murder.

He appeared at a special sitting of Dundalk District Court.

He has been receiving psychiatric treatment at the Central Mental Hospital in Dundrum and now has not been unable to attend four consecutive hearings. 

Judge Anthony Halpin further remanded Mr Morei in custody and adjourned the case until Thursday March 8th. 

Japanese national Mr Sasaki, aged 24, was killed after he was fatally stabbed on the Avenue Road in Dundalk shortly before 9am on Wednesday January 3rd.
