The Fleadh Cheoil took place in Ennis last year and brought in a lot of tourists
Louth retailers are being invited to attend a free workshop which will help business owners make the most of Fleadh Cheoil taking place in Drogheda this August.
The interactive workshop is being organised by Ennis Chamber, Retail Excellence Ireland and Drogheda & District Chamber.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the biggest annual celebration of Irish music, language, song, and dance. The festival, which attracts over 350,000 visitors in the course of a week, is coming to Drogheda in from August 12 to 19, 2018.
It will be the largest event to ever take place in Louth. The Fleadh Cheoil poses a huge opportunity for retailers and SME's to connect with large visiting audiences and boost sales.
At the workshop, retailers will hear from speakers including Jean McCabe, Ennis Retailer and Past President of Ennis Chamber. Jean will talk about her first-hand experience of what it's like to have a Fleadh in your town (the Fleadh took place in Ennis last year), how to reach out to the Fleadh audiences and connect.
Retailers can also take part in an interactive workshop with retail consultant Keith Harford who will explore creative ways to connect with visitors and drive sales.
Participants will also learn how to consider ways to collaborate and cross-promote to help all local companies get the best from the Fleadh and Share ideas on how Louth can prepare and maximise the long term impact of the Fleadh for both locals and return visitors.

This event is hosted by Local Enterprise Office Louth in association with Drogheda & District Chamber, Ennis Chamber and Retail Excellence Ireland.
The workshop will take place on 5th March 2018 from 12 noon to 2.30 pm at the High Lanes Gallery, Drogheda.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 will take place from Sunday 12th August to Sunday 19th August.
It will feature workshops for young musicians, competitions, concerts, céili’s and lots of fun on the streets of Drogheda throughout the week.
