Over €89 million was won by lotto players from the wee county since 1988
Co Louth has been the seventh luckiest county for lotto winners in Ireland, according to new figures released by the National Lottery.
Over €89 million was won by lotto players from the wee county since Ireland's first national lotto draw.
The first Lotto draw took place on Saturday, 16th April 1988. There has been an astonishing 1,738 Lotto jackpot wins, with 745 jackpot prizes totalling over €4.4 billion paid out to Irish lotto players since then.
In Dublin €856 million was handed out in Lotto prizes. Cork was next with €246 million in lotto wins followed by Galway, Donegal, Mayo, and Kildare whose residents received €138 million, €116 million, €103 million and €93 million respectively in National Lotto prize money.
