Carlingford Library closed until further notice due to ‘technical issue’
Carlingford Library will be closed until further notice, according to a tweet posted by Louth County Council.
Amanda Brannigan from Louth County Library in Dundalk said that there are technical difficulties which led to the unexpected closure.
“We have no IT at all in Carlingford Library,” Amanda says. “There is a problem out in Greenore which is affecting the router”. Amanda said that they hope to reopen tomorrow, or as soon as possible, after the technical faults are fixed.
Louth County Council originally posted a tweet with no explanation for the closure. The ambiguous tweet was then criticised by Mark Dearey, a Green Party Louth County Councillor. In an angry tweet, he said “this is how rumours start!! i I enquired about the council tweet just now. It’s an IT/ phone line issue that should be dealt with tomorrow I am told. Not sure why we couldn’t have been given the reason in the first instance.”
Since this, Louth County Council have clarified in another tweet that the closure was due to a technical problem.
