Beware of texts telling you you've won the “Irish Euro Lottery”

A statement from the national Lottery today has warned the public to be aware of scam text messages telling recipients they have been selected to win the “Irish Euro Lottery” and advising them to click on a link.

The link tells recipients that they have won Euromillions prizes.

A National Lottery spokesperson said today: “We have become aware through social media and other channels about such messages which appear to have escalated in the last few days.

"We want to reassure our players, and members of the public, that this activity has nothing to do with the National Lottery, and we would advise caution.”

Make sure to inform your friends and family about this Lotto scam.
