A round-up of the best events happening in Dundalk over Christmas

Dundalk Athletics Club will hold a St. Stephens Day 5k run

On Tuesday, December 19th the Green Church will host their annual Ecumenical Christmas Carol Service. Proceedings kick off at 7pm .There will be a candlelit Christmas carol service featuring a choir and band. All are welcome.


On Wednesday, December 20 An Tain Arts Centre play host Fairytale of Dundalk - a fun-filled variety show in aid of North Louth Hospice. Expect a festive night with a great selection of performers including George and Eddie Furey, The Long Riders, Nemo (illusionist) and many more. Fantastic raffle prizes on the night. Tickets are priced from €10 – €12.

Run off that turkey and support a local cause by taking part in Dundalk Athletics Club St. Stephens Day 5k run. The event is a fundraiser to help build an athletics track in Dundalk. Meet up is at Tesco Extra at 11AM .

On St. Stephen's Night, there are plenty of fun events to choose from. Head over to McManus' pub in Seatown from 8pm to check out local comedy act, TPM doing their thing. There'll also be DJ's on the night. The event is free of charge.


On Christmas Day, December 25th another charity walk is taking place. The annual goal mile has been organised for three locations across Louth this year: at Dundalk IT on Christmas Day from 10-11am; at St. Feichin’s GAA Grounds, Termonfeckin on St Stephen’s Day from 11am-12pm; and at Dunleer AC Track on Christmas Day from 11am-12pm. Looking for some fun events to attend with the kids over the festive season? Head along to Polar Bear in Tain Arts Centre on January 4th. It's a fun show for children, in which the characters Polar Bear and Penguin interact with the audience, with the opportunity for children to participate during the performance and help Polar Bear to celebrate the New Year properly. Santa even makes an appearance. Tickets €14 / €48 for a family of four. Please note the 4pm show is in Latvian and the 6:30pm show is in Russian. Check http://antain.ie/
