Louth County Council announce temporary closure of Ardee roads
Irish Water and Louth County Council apologise to customers in Ardee who were impacted by a further water outage today. Following repairs yesterday a second mechanical pump failure occurred over night.
A repair crew was back on site this morning to carry out the repair which is now complete. The Ardee Water Treatment Plant is now back in production and the Sliabh Breagh Reservoir is refilling and water is returning to customers.
The water supply to customers in Blakestown, Kilpatrick, Ballapousta, Cluide, Smarmore, Rathgory, Mullameelan, Mulladrillen, Stabannan, Dromin and surrounding areas served by the Blakestown Reservoir will be restored later this evening.
Irish Water and Louth County Council will distribute bottled water from midday in the car park at Hunterstown GAA club and at St Mary’s GAA club.
Two water tankers have been deployed to top up the Blakestown Reservoir which will help the water levels restore.
We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused and thank them for their patience while we worked to repair the issue and restore supply to all customers. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 and customers can contact us on 1850 278 278 or visit www.water.ie or on Twitter @IWCare for updates.
