REPAIRS are complete to the pumps following a mechanical breakdown at the Ardee Water Treatment Plant in Co Louth.

The Slieve Beagh reservoir, which serves most of Ardee, is now refilling and a mains water supply is currently returning for most customers.

It is anticipated that there will be continued disruption for approximately 150 properties while the network recharges and the Blakestown Reservoir level refills.

Disruption is expected in the following areas until 9am tomorrow Thursday, December 14. Areas affected include Blakestown, Ballapousta, Kilpatrick, Cluide, Rathgory, Mullameelan, Mulladrillen, Smarmore, areas of Stabannan and Dromin.

Irish Water and Louth County Council have apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused due to this unplanned outage and thanks them for their patience while they worked to repair the pumps and while the reservoirs refill.

The customer care helpline is open 24/7 on  1850 278 278. Customers contacting the helpline about this outage should quote this unique alert reference number: LOU016630.
