'Irish Elk' gifted to Blackrock Park in Louth

Brian Hopper, who has been creating Irish Elk from recycled Leylandii trees, has gifted one to Blackrock Park, where it arrived last weekend.

The Elk was transported from Brian’s garden to the park by Aidan and Patrick Dunne where it was installed on the woodland slope.

"We are absolutely delighted and especially the fact that these magnificent creations are made from the much maligned leylandii.

"This reuse of the trees is very much in keeping with the ethos of the park where recycling and sustainability are key components in the park management."
