Dundalk man accused of false imprisonment to stand trial

A 51 year old man accused of the false imprisonment of a man and demanding money from him with menaces is to stand trial at Dundalk Circuit Court.

The DPP had directed that the case against William Smith of Aisling Park, Dundalk could only be dealt with at district court level if a guilty plea was entered.

The defendant is also accused of producing an article capable of inflicting injury, during the course of a dispute at St. Nicholas' Avenue on April 30th last year.

At Dundalk district court last Wednesday Judge John Coughlan adjourned the case to the seventh of March and extended time for service of a book of evidence.
