Louth TD Gerry Adams to set out retirement plans

Louth Deputy Gerry Adams is expected to set out his retirement plans as President of Sinn Fein during an address to the Sinn Fein Ard Fheis in Dublin today.

It is believed Adams (69) will announce more details about the current process of leadership transition.

He has held the role of Sinn Fein president since 1983.

He is however expected to seek re-election as president today at the party's Ard Fheis, but will then set out his long term plans.
