Number of vacant properties in Louth revealed

FIFTY-SIX vacant properties in Co Louth were logged on the website VacantHomes.ie at the end of October.

The total of vacant properties is made up of detached, semi-detached, terraced and apartment, according to a VacantHomes.ie spokesperson.

VacantHomes.ie has been live since early August. By the end of the month 23 vacant properties in Co Louth had been recorded on the site.

By September 30 the figure had risen to 37 vacant homes and by October 31 the number of vacant homes in the county had jumped to 56.

“We are delighted with the response from the public to date,” said the VacantHomes.ie spokesperson.

“We believe that bringing vacant housing units back into use will benefit property owners, communities, the local economy and anyone with a housing need.”
