Dundalk girl Fionnuala Quinn scoops High Achiever Award from Royal Irish Academy of Music

Congratulations to Blackrock soprano, Fionnuala Quinn, who was presented with a High Achiever Award from the Royal Irish Academy of Music at a recent ceremony in Dublin’s Belvedere College.

She was recommended for the award by the local centre examiner following her performance at her Grade 8 exam in singing, for which she also was awarded a certificate of Distinction.

Of the 42,000 students  who are examined by the Royal Irish Academy of Music in any one year, this special award is reserved for students who make a particular impression on the examiner, and is an acknowledgement of the exceptional standard achieved by these candidates.

Fionnuala (17), a Leaving Cert student at St. Vincent’s Secondary School, has appeared with both Setanta and Redemptorist Choirs, and has also been a member of S.O.N.G musical theatre group. She was prepared for her Grade 8 exam by Sarah Mc Court.
