Gardai have confirmed this evening that they had carried out an immigration operation during the week, on the outskirts of Dundalk.
According to the force's Twitter account serveral people were found to be in breach of immigration offences.
"An Immigration Operation occurred at Dundalk, Co. Louth on the 6th Feb, where 8 persons were found to be in breach of immigration offences."
