A book, by a local author Sarah Gilbert based on a truth, that tells the story of a family in the fictional village of Kilmaken in Meath, starting in the 1920’s, has just been published.
It follows their lives to present day, keeping secret a decision made in this rural community in post civil war Ireland by one woman, Maggie Hanlon, and its catastrophic impact on future generations especially her daughter Brigid.
A family saga based on a true story, Hello, At Last is a rattling tale of unspoken family feud and love and one womans search for happiness and family against the odds. Will she find it?
The book signings takes place in McKevitts Village Hotel in Carlingford on Sunday 18 December between 2 and 4 pm, and Newry Library on Monday December from 11 - 1pm.
Sarah whose voice you will recognise from her voice over work on UTV, UTV Ireland, RTE, and LMFM, and other stations, has successfully told the story of one womans search for happiness.
