Deputy Peter Fitzpatrick, has welcomed confirmation from the National Transport Authority that DART services are to be extended to Drogheda.
“Today the National Transport Authority appeared before the Transport, Tourism and Sport Committee.
“At the meeting I questioned if the NTA had considered extending the proposed DART services to Balbriggan onwards to Drogheda.
“I’m delighted to report that Hugh Creegan, the Assistant CEO of the NTA, confirmed that DART services will be extended to Drogheda, as part of providing the services to Balbriggan.
“This is extremely welcome news for the residents of Drogheda and surrounding areas who commute daily to Dublin City Centre and I will be working hard to ensure the extension happens as soon as possible.
“This Fine Gael lead Government is taking real and practical steps to use the resources we have, to make the lives of everyone a little better.”
