WITH a stunning Christmas Range designed exclusively for Arnott’s, Christmas has certainly come early for local business ‘Green Gorgeous’.
Founded by graphic designer and Blackrock native Paula Stapleton and interior designer Linda Sheridan Green Gorgeous specialises in contemporary home and giftware with an eco-conscience.
“We are delighted to be part of the Christmas story at the Iconic Arnott’s department store” commented Paula.
“It’s very rewarding’ Linda added. “After all the hard work and hours that go into building an Irish designed and made homewares brand, to be recognised by Arnotts, Ireland’s oldest and largest department store.
“ This landmark destination, now part of the Selfridges Group, is a family favourite with both Irish and international visitors. We hope to build a long term relationship with the store and the group”.
And though Christmas is quite a way off the project has been in the pipeline for almost a year.
“We met the buyers at various trade shows and conversations led to a meeting early this year. They asked us to come up with some exclusive designs for Christmas 2016.
“We worked on the designs through Spring and Summer and delivered the order at the end of August for the Christmas shop opening mid-September”.
Inspired by nature and the landscape, their unique product ranges are designed and made in Ireland from eco materials.
“Our current range features placemats with cleverly cut- out coasters, napkin rings, winewraps, egg and coffee cosies made from top quality 100% wool felt in vibrant colours and nature-inspired designs. Each piece is functional as well as being fun and beautiful.
“The 100% wool felt tableware is hardwearing and heat resistant. The wool in the cosies and winewraps provides natural thermal insulation keeping the contents cool or warm as required’.
“Our Christmas range is based on our robin (sky) design. We sell the robin design all year round but the red robin takes on a life of its own during the festive season!
The robin range features a placemat and coaster set, coasters, napkin rings, and new for this year is a robin- inspired festive table runner. A lot of Christmas tableware is very traditional. Our design is very contemporary and it gives buyers a modern alternative’.
Best of all Green Gorgeous is completely eco-friendly,
“Our ethos is in the name! Eco-friendly products that are not beige and boring, they are green and gorgeous. We want to make contemporary design-led products from top quality raw materials that are also eco-friendly (sustainable sourced, organic, biodegradable, etc.) We want to make our products here in Ireland in quality production facilities and to support the local economy.
“We want to use low carbon, resource-efficient production methods.
“This ethos along with our clean design aesthetic, inspiration form nature and an infusion of humour gives us a unique offering with integrity and designer appeal”.
So if you fancy adding something completely unique to your Christmas décor this year you have several shopping options,
“The Arnotts range is exclusive to Arnotts and so is only available to buy there, instore and online at www.arnotts.ie. Our robin (Sky) range is also available at Arnotts and from our new website www.greengorgeous.ie’.
