Frances Black to open Family Addiction Support Network in town next week

Senator Frances Black The RISE Foundation CEO will officially launch Family Addiction Support Network at 12.00pm on Monday 10th October 2016 at Lios Dubh, Armagh Rd, Dundalk, Co. Louth

Speakers on the day will include: Gwen McKenna (FASN), Nora Donaghy (Turas), Frances Black (The RISE Foundation) and Alan Duff (ISPCC).

FASN in Lios Dubh provide a weekly peer-support meeting, 1-1’s, 5 Step Program, access to counseling and respite and a 10 week educational program for Family Members affected by addiction issues.

The Network’s goal is to assist families in the North East to achieve a greater understanding of addiction, empower them to improve their quality of life and help them fulfil a positive role in the recovery of their loved one, should they choose to take it.

A family peer-support group is a place where family members (concerned persons) can come and talk about addiction issues in a safe, non judgmental and caring environment.

Counseling is available on a one to one basis if needed.

Respite is available annually for family members as a group event facilitated by counselors.
