Three Dundalk students are among seven Louth winners who have been presented with top awards in this year’s 62nd Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
Déaghlan McGovern (7), from St. Malachy’s Boys National School; Cara Pilbeam (13), from St. Vincent’s Secondary School, and Ella Taylor (6), from Scoil Mhuire na nGael were all winners at this year's Texaco Art Competition.
Déaghlan McGovern won third prize in the 7-8 years age category of the competition.
Other Dundalk winners, both of whom won Special Merit Awards, were Cara Pilbeam (13), from St. Vincent’s Secondary School and Ella Taylor (6), from Scoil Mhuire na nGael.
With an annual entry of up to 50,000 paintings, the Texaco Children's Art Competition is one that has touched the lives of virtually every family in Ireland at some time or another throughout its 50 year lifetime. In that respect alone, it is quite special.
The exhibition will remain open to the public each day from Monday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5pm until Saturday, 5th November next. Admission is free.
