THE skies may have been grey but that did not dampen the enthusiasm and celebration in Blackrock Park for the recent raising of the Green Flag by the Chairman of Louth County Council, Councillor Paul Bell.
Celebrating the event with the visitors to the Park that day, the Park Gardening Volunteers, the St John of God volunteers and many others were Mr Frank Pentony, Acting Chief Executive of Louth County Council, Mr Paddy Donnelly, Director of Services, Mr Gerry Kelly, Senior Engineer and Mr Elias Mlimbila.
Elias has been liaising and working with Blackrock Park Committee over many months in preparation for this day.
“We were absolutely delighted to have so many friends of the Park with us last Tuesday.
“Over the coming months the Park Committee and Louth County Council will be working together on the implementation of a number of suggestions from the Green Flag judges which will further enhance the Park’.
“For those who have not yet been to the Park in Blackrock can we remind you that it is located immediately behind the Community Centre on Sandy Lane.
“It is an absolute gem and a truly community space for everyone to enjoy!"
