Gardai are appealing for information after a 17-year-old man received head injuries when over 20 people were involved in a melee at the Applegreen service on the northbound side of the M1 at around 2pm last Friday 26 August.

Thirty buses carrying people who had attended a concert in Northern Ireland pulled in at the service station. A fight broke out in the parking area and a young man received serious head injuries and was taken to the Lourdes in Drogheda. He was later transferred to Beaumont hospital Dublin.

Gardai at Ardee Garda Station are investigating the circumstances that led to the attack. The man is recovering from his injuries but anyone with any information is asked to contact Ardee Garda Station at 041 - 685 3222.
