Car and caravan set fire in Ardee

Gardai in Ardee are appealing for witnesses to a fire in Ardee at about 5am on Sunday morning.

A car was burned out and a caravan was also damaged.

Gardai are treating the situation as suspicious and are continuing their investigations.

The car, which was at the Ardee Enterprise Centre at the end of Sean O'Carroll Street, was engulfed in flames, and the caravan was also damaged.

A white Volkswagen Passat was seen in the area at the time and gardai have asked anyone who may have seen something suspicious to contact them at Ardee Garda station: 041-6853222.

A jewelry shop was broken into in Ardee in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gardai are also investigating this incident.

There were reports of disturbances on Ardee's Main street on Saturday involving a number of men and women.

And a young woman called to an elderly lady in Ardee demanding money (See page 10).
