Principal Patricia O'Leary of De La Salle Secondary School Dundalk says she is very proud of the school's Leaving Cert students.
"The results were very good and we are very happy. Of course there will be a nervous wait until the CAO results come out on Monday.”
Principal O'Leary says that there is an expectation of change in the CAO system this year.
"There's a record number of the CAO applications, and an increase in the numbers applying to courses related to the construction industry. During the recession that fell away, but now we are seeing a big interest in architecture, the sciences, computing and business and anything to do with construction."
"The vast majority of the boys are very happy and we are very proud of them. Some haven't been in yet and others that are away will use their pin and go online to receive their results.
"Teachers have come in today - as they do every year - to congratulate them and to wish them the best of luck."
"We've been on a journey with them since they started here at 12 years of age and we're very proud of them."
