Glamour was not in short supply last week at the 2016 Marshes Shopping Centre Ladies Day which took place at Dundalk Stadium.

Great weather and €5,000 prize saw thousands flock to the race meet where a mix of abundant colour, style and horses lent itself to a memorable day out.

Marshes Shopping Centre, the title sponsor were delighted to welcome TV presenter and Rose of Tralee host Dáithí Ó Sé as the celebrity judge of this year's ‘Marshes Best Dressed Lady’.

Marshes ‘Best Dressed Lady’ competition marked the finale to Dundalk Style Weekender – which included a mall event celebrating everything stylish at Marshes. Dáithí, along with Marshes Personal Stylist Caroline McElroy and Neil Cole NI Gossip Guy awarded the winner, Nicole Caldwell from Banbridge with the much sought after Marshes Stylish Experience worth €5,000.

This year the People also had the chance to vote for their best dressed favourite. Emma Hanratty (last year’s winner) received the nod from the public this year picking up a Marshes voucher as the People's Choice 2016. The ace of the card and one of the feature greyhound races of the year at Dundalk Stadium also took place; Marshes Dundalk International 2015.

The invitation only greyhound race with a total prize fund of €37,000 was momentous with this year's winner Droopys Roddick trained by Pat Buckley and owned by Mr. J.M. Proctor (Essex) claiming first prize and scoring a new track record in a time of 29.40.
