Tadgh delivers speech as he graduates at RCSI conferring

Tadgh McGivern, from Dundalk was one of a number to be conferred at the RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland)’s 2016 June Conferring event in Dublin.

Dr McGivern was named Class of 2016 valedictorian and delivered the valedictorian speech at the ceremony.

He completed the impressive feat of achieving a PhD in three years, where four is usually the norm.

His PhD, on the topic of cancer treatments, was entitled “Multifunctional copper drug candidates as a potential anti-cancer agents”.

Research like Tadgh's will will contribute to our understanding of a range of diseases including stroke, epilepsy, psychiatry, diabetes and breast and colorectal cancers.

The group consists of graduates from Ireland, Bahrain, Kuwait, Sudan, India, Nigeria and Japan.
