FOR INTERIOR Designer Aneta Sasin exhibiting at the Colour Trend Interior Design Forum for the Permanent TSB Ideal Home Show was high on her bucket list so the Blackrock based designer says jumped at the chance when she was shortlisted to take part at last months’ show in the RDS.
“I was very excited when I found out that my design was chosen as one of the eight ideas for this year's show. I have always admired the Colortrend Interior Design Forum and wanted to be one of the winning designers, showcasing my ideas during the Ideal Home Show. I remember the last time when I was just visiting the Show in October, I said to my friends - "That is one of my goals / dreams for next year - to be part of all of it myself".
“Overall, I have to say that it was a brilliant experience, for me and for my business Kaisen Interior Designs. If you are an entrepreneur yourself, I would definitely recommend showcasing your business to the public at one of these type of shows. Once again I would like to thank Colortrend and all the others who have helped me along the way in achieving another goal I have set for my company’.
“I'm actually overwhelmed with the amount of positive response my design received during the show. I even had Melinda Messenger admiring my room-set. She visited my stand to have some photos taken and loved my modern colour scheme. And she definitely looked gorgeous there, in my "Glamily Dining Room"
For Aneta, as with all of her designs, preparation was key to the success of the project,
“I had to start the preparations straight away and also manage all the other projects at the same time. The whole process of preparations for the show was really stressful and time-consuming but when I have seen the final effect I knew then that it was worth it. It's a beautiful feeling to follow your project from the beginning till the end. And also to experience all the feedback personally, straight from your potential clients’.
During the design process Aneta says she drew from her own personal life to produce a winning formula,
“Inspired my own personal life, I wanted to focus on finding an antidote to fast-paced lifestyle and try influencing and improving a well-being of the whole family. Sharing quality time with your family is much more important now than in the past because of all the distractions in today’s busy world. I wanted to promote an importance of having a proper place, stylish and functional at the same time, for the whole family to enjoy and share all the precious moments together.’
“My idea was to create a transitional dining room, with hand-made dining table and chairs as a focal point around which visual balance has been achieved with bespoke artwork and lighting, traditional tableware, modern flooring and substantial accessories in order to make this room a conversation piece’.
“Colourtrend Head Offfice in Cellbridge was sponsoring the place and all the paint needed. And I had to source everything else. I had all the furniture, lighting and the artwork designed and made to order, especially for the show. With a great help of local suppliers and trades people I work with, I managed to get all the elements of my design to look exactly the way I planned.’
