The new Boyne Valley Tourism APP has just been launched. Packed with information the APP is free to download to iphone and android devices.

It provides tourists to Louth and Meath – the Boyne Valley – with an easy access point to find information to enable them plan their trip to the Boyne Valley, aswell as Dundalk.

The APP includes up to the minute detail on events, places of interest, farmers markets, festivals, hotels and restaurants deals.

Some of the many features include a ‘What’s on’ Calendar and a ‘My Itinerary’ section that gives suggested 3 or 5 day itineraries for those planning a ‘Family Fun Holiday’; or a ‘Heritage and Culture’ experience.

As the APP is GPS enabled it allows the user to access information on accommodation and attractions close to where you are actually standing at any given time, and to make it even easier for the user they can get directions to a location, e.g. a hotel or attraction. The Boyne Valley Tourism APP works offline and there are no data or roaming charges.

The project was driven by the Cultural Tourism Group who oversaw the development of the official Boyne Valley Tourism App. With information very accessible and straightforward, along with geo fencing technology, the App enables events in the local area to be highlighted to the visitor. Additionally, tourist providers can upload their own information and special offers.
