562 new-build social houses were delivered in Louth in 2025
562 new build social houses were delivered in Louth last year as a record number were built nationwide.
Of the 562 social houses that were built, 115 were by Louth County Council with a further 322 delivered by Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs). There were also 125 Part V acquisitions in the county last year.
Just Dublin City, South Dublin, and Fingal delivered more new build social houses than Louth in 2025.
Local Fine Gael TD Paula Butterly said the latest figures show that "progress is already being made".
“I’m delighted to see that 562 new build social homes were delivered for Louth in 2025."
“Behind these figures are the people, individuals, couples and families, who will now own their own homes."
Deputy Butterly said the government must continue to build on this "serious momentum" and "keep delivering more homes for Louth".

Nationally, 9,089 new-build social homes were delivered, the highest in the history of the State.
Housing Minister James Browne said the new social homes represent "security, stability and opportunity for thousands of households".
However, opposition parties have criticised the Government as the delivery falls short of its own target of 10,000.
Sinn Féin spokesperson on housing Eoin Ó Broin said: "The 10,000 target was too low to begin with. We need at least 15,000 new build social housing homes every year to reduce waiting lists and homelessness."
"Not only was the target too low but it was missed. At a time of rising homelessness this is utterly unacceptable."
