To mark the completion of the QQI Level 5 Office Administration programme at the Regional Skills and Training Centre, Coes Road, Minister for Business and Employment, Ged Nash congratulated the learners on successfully completing the challenging 49 week programme.

Speaking at the event, Minister Nash said “office administrators play a key role in maintaining the smooth day to day running of a busy office.

“In many cases these are the people who keep the businesses functioning.

“ Investment is education and training is key to continued economic recovery and I am delighted to be able to celebrate here today with you”.

Peter Egan, LMETB’s Area Training Manager said:

“The programme which ran for 49 weeks in the centre, consists of eight modules and enables the learner to develop the knowledge, skill and competencies to provide administrative support including the use of office equipment, computer applications, document production, compiling basic accounts, managing filing systems and diaries in a variety of office settings.

“Participants on the programme received both QQI Level 5 minor awards and Level 5 Major Awards in Office Administration.

“Most of the learners will commence or already have secured employment.
