Plans underway for 67 new homes on outskirts of Dundalk

Mix of houses and apartments planned for Racecourse Road in Dundalk with application for planning permission lodged with Louth County Council

Plans are underway for a new housing development of 67 homes in a mix of houses, duplex units, and apartments, on the outskirts of Dundalk, with a planning application lodged with Louth County Council this week.

GK Racecourse Road Developments Ltd applied for planning permission on 24 February, for the development at Racecourse Road, Dundalk, seeking the go ahead for the new housing development.

The proposed housing units comprise: five, five-bedroom detached houses; six, five-bedroom semi-detached houses; two, four-bedroom semi-detached houses; six, four-bedroom terrace houses; seven, three-bedroom terrace houses; 20, three-bedroom semi-detached houses; eight, two-bedroom semi-detached houses; five, two-bedroom terrace houses; four, two-bedroom duplex units; and four, one-bedroom apartments.

Included in the planning application is provision for the construction of new site entrances, demolition of existing dwelling house, provision of estate roads.

The planning application also provides for items including external landscaping including retaining wall structures, new boundary treatments, connection to public services and all associated site development works.

A decision is due on the planning application, which is at a pre-validation stage, by 20 April 2026, with submissions due by 30 March.
