The newly established Louth Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) held its inaugural meeting at County Hall in Dundalk.

LCSPs have been established across all local authorities in Ireland, and aim to replace the work of former Joint Policing Committees.

The Louth LCSP brings together residents, community organisations, elected members, An Garda Síochána, Louth County Council, Tusla, the Health Service Executive (HSE), education representatives, business representatives, and other key stakeholders.

The  LCSP aims to provide a collaborative forum where community safety concerns can be identified, discussed, and addressed through coordinated, evidencebased action.

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council called the meeting a major milestone in delivering community safety for Louth.

"The establishment of the Louth Local Community Safety Partnership ensures that communities are active partners in shaping safety priorities and identifying the improvements that matter most in their daily lives.

The Partnerships remit goes far beyond policing; it includes crime prevention, environmental enhancement, place‑making, and promoting the broader wellbeing of our residents," he said.

Mr Conway said there is a real opportunity to strengthen community confidence, improve quality of life, and make Louth and even better place to live.
