For the second year Dundalk Lions Club this year carried out the Daffodil Day collection on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society.
Collection points were located at 20 different points in Dundalk and one each in Blackrock and Bellurgan.
In total approximately 100 volunteers including members of the Lions Club took part.
Separate collections took place at St Brigids Special School and Dundalk Lawn Tennis Club.
In association with Dundalk Lions Club St Brigids School organised a fundraiser for Daffodil Day within the school by selling treats and Cancer Society memorabilia.
Along with donations from the staff, residents and parents they raised a great total of €1,089.30.
The Dundalk Lions Club raised €24,000 on Daffodil Day for the Irish Cancer society while this year's total was €28,149.
The Lions Club would like to thank all those who volunteered on the day, the local businesses who allowed collections to take place either inside or outside their premises and TY students from local schools.
It has been agreed by the Club that they would again carry out the fundraiser next year.
Well done to all involved in the Daffadil Day fundraiser!
