Last Thursday St. Joseph's N.S. hosted a team of international runners who visited the school as part of The Peace Run.

On the day there was a diverse range of activities, including some students joining in the peace run and holding the peace torch.

The run has taken place in more than 100 countries with the aim of promoting understanding and harmonious relationships between people of all nations, faiths and cultures.

This year's route took the running team a total distance of 360km  from Wexford to Belfast from May 6th to May 13th.

Along the way the Peace Run team visited schools and youth organisations to share inspiration for creating a more harmonious world; a new world of Peace.

Runners offered educational presentations that promote good will, respect and oneness amongst all people.

The Peace Run was inspired by visionary Sri Chinmoy to give citizens a dynamic way to express their own hopes and dreams for a more harmonious world.

An athlete, philosopher, artist, musician and poet, Sri Chinmoy dedicated his life to inspiring people to find peace within themselves.
