Dundalk court: Man pleaded guilty to purchasing sexual services

A 37 year old man who was seen to enter and exit a suspected brothel, admitted purchasing sexual services within the premises, when he was questioned by gardaí, Dundalk District Court heard last week.

Frances Morgan with an address at Laurel Hill, Newry pleaded guilty to committing the offence at Chapel Street, Dundalk on October 18th 2020.

The Defence solicitor told the court that his client was very apologetic and embarrassed about the incident and added he was going through a tough time and was very anxious to avoid a conviction.

"He's in significant paid employment and he's concerned it could affect his future career prospects.”

Judge Eirinn McKiernan struck out the charge after €750 was handed into the court, which she directed should go to the Rape Crisis Centre North East.
