Pat McCabe's play Country and Irish coming to Dundalk's An Táin

Theatre fans, An Táin Arts Centre has got a show like nothing else you’ll see this year.
Peter Gowen takes the lead of Pat McCabe’s Country and Irish, at An Táin Arts Centre, Thursday 18th May at 8pm.
From the author of The Butcher Boy and Breakfast on Pluto, Patrick McCabe’s Country and Irish is a hilarious but savage portrait of a man at the end of his rope.
Directed by Conor Hanratty, McCabe’s triumphant theatrical display has been picking up rave reviews and great enthusiastic audience response.
Featuring a soundtrack of terrific music worthy of the title, Country and Irish is a must see.
Director of An Táin Arts Centre, Paul Hayes said: “In my opinion Pat McCabe is Ireland’s greatest living writer, from The Butcher Boy to Breakfast at Pluto, he has had great international success as his books lend themselves so well to film.
“His writing is also perfect for the stage, over the years I have enjoyed wonderful adaptations of The Dead School, The Adventures of Shay Mouse and Emerald Germs of Ireland.
“I am really looking forward to welcoming Fight to Flight Theatre to Dundalk with their new production.”
Tickets are €18 / €16 (plus €1.50 booking fee per ticket) and can be purchased from An Táin Arts
